Globant, a global leader in digital transformation, has revealed the winners of its fifth annual Women that Build Awards, celebrating women’s contributions to leadership, technology, and entrepreneurship. The event, launched in 2020, aims to highlight women making significant strides in traditionally male-dominated fields, fostering a more inclusive and equitable sector.
Patricia Pomies, Chief Operating Officer at Globant, described the awards as an ongoing journey of recognition and inclusion. “This fifth edition builds upon the rich experiences of previous years, continuously improving our process. At Globant, we are committed to supporting women in leadership roles and cutting-edge technologies, as well as visionary entrepreneurs driven by purpose. We are proud to showcase stories that reflect their immense contributions to innovation and inclusivity.”
Since its inception, the Women that Build Awards has attracted participation from over 6,500 candidates and support from more than 170 organisations. The initiative has drawn over 350,000 public votes, with 270 international judges participating in the selection process. Three outstanding women have been named global winners for their achievements in tech leadership, entrepreneurship, and data science:
Kavitha Krishnan – Tech Executive Global Winner
Kavitha Krishnan, Vice President and Head of the Innovation Center Network at SAP Labs India, was recognised as the Global Tech Executive winner. A distinguished leader in the software industry with over 25 years of experience, Kavitha has led innovative projects, including advancements in the Metaverse and Generative AI. Judges praised her for pushing the boundaries of technological innovation and her role in building high-performance teams that inspire other women in tech.
Margo Jordan – Tech Entrepreneur Global Winner
Margo Jordan, Founder and CEO of Enrichly, was named Global Tech Entrepreneur for her work in revolutionising educational technology. A former military service member, Margo transitioned into entrepreneurship with a strong focus on youth mental health and self-esteem development. Her platform, which uses AI and data analytics to boost self-esteem among K-12 students, has had a profound impact, improving academic performance and reducing youth violence. Judges commended Margo for her visionary leadership and dedication to social impact.
Inés Huertas – Tech Leader Global Winner
Inés Huertas, Global Head of Data & Artificial Intelligence at Kairós, was awarded the Global Tech Leader title. With a background in Big Data and Machine Learning, Inés has been a leading figure in the data science field. In addition to her role at Kairós, she has coordinated Rladies Madrid, a community for women in programming, and contributed to NASA’s Open Data Datanauts program. Inés was recognised for her leadership in the tech industry and her efforts to drive positive change through data innovation.
These global winners were selected by an esteemed panel of judges, including prominent figures from Globant and partner organisations. The panel featured industry leaders such as Melissa Daimler, Chief Learning Officer at Udemy; Andrea Pastrana, Audit Partner & Leader of DEI at KPMG; and Cassandra Seier, Head of International Capital Markets at the New York Stock Exchange.
